The world needs more people who can facilitate better.

If you believe this, you’re in the right place, a space where I offer content-rich posts exploring core principles and practical advice for designing and facilitating better meetings and workshops.

I published more than 100,000 words in almost 100 posts from 2020 to 2023. At the start of 2024, I reset the site to a blank page so that going forward it would only contained revised and refreshed content. Throughout this year expect TGIFF—thank goodness it is Facilitation Friday—with one of these enhanced posts arriving subscribers’ inbox every Friday … for FREE. No paid subscription required.

One of my core beliefs and mantras is that anyone can—and everyone should—make facilitative contributions in the various settings we daily encounter and in the various roles that comprise our life: friend, parent, mentor, colleague, partner, team member, et al.

So whether you readily own “facilitator” as a title describing some of your reponsibilities or you’re just looking to help enhance meetings and workshops as a participant, you’ll find content to support your efforts.

May I humbly suggest you subscribe?

Not another newsletter!

If you’ve ever said that after opening your inbox, I share your pain.

And to be honest, you can bookmark this site and never subscribe, simply returning for content when you are in need of it. If that works for you, go for it!

But here’s why I suggest you subscribe instead.

  • You get content when it is released, and just like the cinnamon roll hot out of the oven, it just tastes better in that moment.

  • Serendipity potentially may strike: an idea you didn’t know you need arrives in a post that you weren’t expecting.

  • You can be a better resource and information source for colleagues. When you get posts as they are published, you can forward them to others whom you know would benefit. Being a trusted source for useful information has cachet, particularly in our attention-starved world; i.e., You should ask Carlos. He’s got lots of ideas about effective facilitation.

  • It’s free!

  • Subscribers also receive reduced prices and first access to limited edition Train-the-Trainer Resource Kits offered in 2024. Each kits contains facilitator outlines, suggested dialogue, sample slides, and sample learning worksheets or handouts … everything you need to use the kit’s format or activity in your own meetings or workshops.

I subscribe to a lot of newsletters and what makes doing so manageable is setting up rules in my email client to forward each one to its own folder. I scan the subject line when the email arrives and determine if I will read it right away or return to it later.

Extra subscriber benefits

  • Subscribers receive reduced prices and first access to limited edition Train-the-Trainer Resource Kits offered. Each kit contains facilitator outlines, suggested dialogue, sample slides, and sample learning worksheets or handouts … everything you need to use the kit’s format or activity in your own meetings or workshops.

  • Every now and then I offer subscriber discounts for a facilitation resource or workshop.

  • And if interest is expressed, I sometimes do a live chat with subscribers.

If you’re not on the list, you won’t get this added value.
